And no one fears Dewmann, because no one expects Dewmann.

And that's just the way he likes it.

Not in a rapey kind of way though.

NICK FURY UP ON ALL OF THESE BITCHES
AND THEN CAP COMES IN AND DOES SOME SHIT WITH HIS SHIELD LIKE FUCK YEAH
CAPTAIN AMERICA FUCKS EVERYONE UP MAN
IRONMAN IS A BIT OF A BASTARD BUT THATS OKAY I GUESS

AND OH MY GOD
OH MY GOD
COULSON
SO MUCH SAD
THE CARDS
THE CAAAAAAARDS
I SERIOUSLY ALMOST CRIED

IN FACT I ALMOST CRIED A LOT JUST BECAUSE IT WAS ALL SO GREAT
A+++++++++ 9.2/10 WOULD WATCH AGAIN

Really impressed with the casting, to be honest. I wish the guy playing Thor had a wider range, but I was super duper happy with Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. SO MUCH BETTER THAN ERIC BANA. WHY WAS THAT EVEN A MOVIE>

So many good lines in the movie:
Spoiler:
"Hulk, smash."
HNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG CAPTAIN AMERICA YOU CAN HAVE ME

If anyone's seen it,
Spoiler:
do they know who was the purple dude at the end of the credits?
I'm more of a DC buff, I didn't recognise who it was supposed to be.

Apparently it's supposed to be Thanos? I guess that works out okay.

I REALLY HOPE SCARLETT JOHANSSON DOES HER OWN STUNTS
I WOULD BE REALLY DISAPPOINTED IF SHE DIDN'T

I was thoroughly disappointed with the crowd in my cinema, I wish they had enforcers in the cinema to make sure that people followed the proper movie-going etiquette. People wouldn't shut up and at least three phones went off while the movie was playing, I was so close to just walking out.

So I found the Blaxploitation move Boss Nigger on youtube, and am about ready to watch the hell out of it, because I've only ever been able to find the trailer until now.

Fun Fact: Yesterday, me and S170 had to find a conrner and stand inorder to watch the movie and still be next to eachother.
Dispite haveing to stand for the better part of an hour and a half, our legs felt just fine. It's amaseing what crowds 3D Imax moives draw.

I usually go to movies late at night or early in the morning so that there are fewer people in the cinema. It's so much more enjoyable when you can watch a movie in silence, sit wherever you want and immerse yourself.

You guys...Avengers...you guys...this movie...this movie is nerd porn. This movie is epicness. This movie is....ninja-approved.

Not to say there aren't a few questions with which I'm left...

Warning: DO NOT CLICK if you haven't seen the movie and don't want spoilers.

Spoiler:

1. Where was War Machine during this whole event? I mean, seriously. He was proven more than competent enough in Iron Man 2, plus he still has the suit. The only reference to the military is a police officer wondering where the army is. No mention of the air force at all.

2. Why could Bruce control himself as Hulk at the end, but not when he first transformed on the airship? Also, how did he know where to go to find them in New York?

3. Why did they never mention Hawkeye's full codename? They referred to Natasha as "the Black Widow" at least once.

4. Why did Hulk *stop* smashing Loki? That was so funny!

5. When's the sequel coming out? Thanos for the win!

The 7th Wonder of the World
Spoiler:
1. I think that's because War Machine is more of an Ironman character and they didn't want too many characters on the screen. Now that they've fleshed out the basic characters of the Avengers, I reckon they might put him in the next one.

2. They showed through-out the film that Bruce was getting better at controlling Hulk, didn't they? There was that scene just before the fight where he fell and the guy was going on about how he aimed away from people and I think there was another moment they mentioned it, but I've forgotten. Plus, he punched Thor for no reason at one point in the fight, so he wasn't completely in control. Maybe even Hulk could see the advantage of fighting the Chitauri or maybe they just wanted to show Hulk fighting on the side he was supposed to be fighting on.

3. Because they suck, that's why. They didn't mention it in Thor either, I didn't even know he was in it until someone pointed it out to me. Wasn't Hawkeye just the coolest, though? His quiver was pretty awesome though I wish he had his mask.

Also, I missed that scene after the credits, what happens?

So I finished Boss Nigger after starting it yesterday.

Don't judge it by it's title, it's a damn good movie, particularly the second half. The characters are stereotypical in some respects, yes, but not as much as you'd expect from the title, it actually is able to convey more than just the cheesiness of a typical blaxploitation movie, and the ending is actually pretty touching.

944 Re: Film Thread on Mon May 07, 2012 4:44 pm

I just watched the new "Three Musketeers."

*SPOILERS*

Spoiler:
That was ridiculous. Just.... The entire movie. Ridiculous.

But the main thing is, the entire plot of the movie was to keep France and England from going to war, by getting the necklace back and preventing a scandal. So, to do that, they sent four FRENCH agents to steal it back. Instead, those agents pointlessly blew up an English castle, KNOWING that the necklace was not there.

So, they started a war anyway.

Although, one weird thing I noticed: I watched the Princess Bride right before watching this movie, and I noticed the horse's name was "Buttercup." That made me laugh.

But then later, someone said something along the lines of, "The only things in life that you can trust are money, power, etc.... The only people who will tell you different are trying to sell you something." Which is weird, because I SWEAR they said the exact same thing in the Princess Bride. Kind of odd.

That's just one gripe I have, of course.

IS THAT THE ONE WITH ORLANDO BLOOM AND MILLA JOVOVICH

That was a pretty bad movie, yeah. I think it would've been, like, 250% better if they got rid of D'Artagnan completely. The acting was pretty good, though.

Excited to see the Avengers soon. I'm not even into Marvel and I think it's gonna kick a lot of ass.
Also, gonna watch it at the drive-in, I hope. Movies are way better when seen at the drive-in.

Oh, don't get me wrong, the fight scenes were pretty damn awesome. Just, the plot, and everything was kind of stupid. I know it's just a mindless action movie, but they should at least TRY to make sense.

It also didn't really feel like a "Three Musketeers" movie. It didn't have the charm that one would expect.

I don't know. Coming from the people who made the "Pirates" movies, I expected way more.
