I don't think we have a TV Thread, so...

I've just started watching Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation on Netflix. My god. Those costumes. Those jokes.

I kind of want to keep watching though: it falls into a "so bad it's good" category for me and as a rule I do kind of like the Ninja Turtles. Call it a guilty pleasure.

No responses beyond the first post?
I love the new ninja turtle cartoon! It's like TMNT2012 or something. Also, Transformers rescue bots is clearly aimed towards smaller children who might be attracted by the Winnie the Pooh art style but it's probably my favorite transformers series so far. Such smart humor!

Started watching Game of Thrones.
Good stuff, I can see why everyone's so into it.

I've only really seen the first season but the nudity in it feels a bit gratuitous sometimes.

Yeah. I kinda get that too. Really, I'd rather they put their pants on and either start cunning plots and/or fight scene. Still, it's worth it.
It was, however, awkward as hell when everyone else in my family was watching it, because they watched it on the massive TV in the living room.

I found the books incredibly boring and the show not much better. I'm really into the show Vikings and The Bible though, but the sex scenes in Vikings seem tacked on more than anything.

I watch the Daily Show religiously.
And I love Adventure Time. It's just the kind of absurdist, character-driven humor I want from my cartoons. Or at least that cartoon. It's awesome.

I've been trying to get into Adventure Time ever since I saw the episodes relating to the Ice King and Marceline's pasts.

And now that they got Donald Glover to do an absolutely sexy as hell voice for the show, I can safely say I'm hooked.

I love that episode, it is tops!
I can't say I have much love for Fionna and Cake, though. The whole spin-off universe with the genderbent dudes is kind of annoying and cliched. On the other hand, there's a whole new generation that's just discovering this trope! Crazy!
Songs are best. I have the songs from the episode with the doorlord on my iPod.

If you like Adventure Time, then you should try Bravest Warriors. Basically Adventure Time IN SPACE.

Marceline's male self is Marshall Lee ;3

Finn = Fiona
Jake = Cake
Princess Bonnibelle Bubblegum = Prince Gumball
Marceline = Marshall Lee
Ice King = Ice Queen
Lady Rainicorn = Lord Monochrome

I can't really remember the others.

I just saw Simon and Marcy.
Feel'd me right in the face. Tom Kenny needs to do more serious roles.

Amazon is doing this thing where you can watch pilot episodes for tv shows and then give feedback...so I watched one for a show called "Browsers."

Basic plot: Set at the office of a gossip/news amalgamation website, the main characters are unpaid interns whose job is to browse the Internet all day for links. Preceding the show is a warning that it contains musical numbers, which is always a good sign [/sarcasm].

Main characters:
(1) Bright, perky chick who talks to herself (and does musical numbers with her conscience). Think J.D. from Scrubs but...no, exactly like J.D. from Scrubs.
(2) Skinny white-bread guy who lives off his parents. Has a Twitter account (@modernvaljean...which they've already reserved with his name and picture I kid you not), which he loves to talk about as if it's something big (even though nobody's heard of it).
(3) Nerdy gay black male who loves to let everyone know about the second word there. "Accidentally" spills coffee on an ersatz Ann Coulter and gets fired before Female J.D. persuades the boss to give him a second chance. His name is Gabe.
(4) Stoner asian girl (I think her name was Prudence, so Beatles reference) who's actually hyper-focused and a pro at browsing (there's a psychedelic scene showing her using her skills, to the amazement of the others).
(5) Their supervisor (I think?) who tells them that at the end of the week one of them is going to be "let go," a practice called "Winnowing Week." Annoying, kiss-up to the boss, but blander than Bill Lumbergh.
(6) The boss. Indeterminate European accent, very strict, likes to put out a face of being progressive, socially conscious, etc. (Gabe worships her), but also has lunch with ersatz Ann Coulter. Has a corny, Fiddler-on-the-Roof-esque musical number with where she drops multiple f-bombs.
(7) Other chick upon whom @modernvaljean hits.

So this show is basically what would happen if you took Scrubs, Glee, and The Office and put them in a media blender...and that's really all I can say about it. The characters have about 1.5 dimensions at best, the jokes are incredibly corny, and the musical numbers are even more so. It feels like something that came out of a marketing meeting (and almost certainly was). It's unoriginal, bland, and the only reason I watched it through was just to see if there was something I could find interesting about it.

...so yeah, watch it if you get a chance...you may agree with me, or you may not. I don't think you have to be a Prime subscriber, and it's free. []

So apparently they're making a television miniseries based on Ringworld...

...but it's being made by SyFy channel: http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/04/10/ringworld-syfy/

...really? The people who made such a risible, pathetic version of A Princess of Mars it was painful to watch to the end? Oh well...[]

You know SyFy's new show Defiance? It was hyped up to the eleventh power but the pilot episode dragged on in the most boring cliche fashion. "Revolutionize sci-fi shows and inspire?" I think not.

And now 'sci-fi nerds' are desperately trying to defend it. Apparently it's a sin to talk down about the show. Just like Walking Dead. Or Tinman.

Fanboys are annoying as FUCK.

Edit: Ringworld looks cool. What's it about really, cause from what I'm researching their dosen't seem to be a lot of material to miniseries it...

It was a miniseries on Syfy. Apparently it was a 'dark and gritty' miniseries about the wizard of Oz, but the acting was terrible and it was painfully boring. They did one for Alice in Wonderland too but I never bothered watching it.

I use to think I was easily amused but lately I haven't been so impressed with the shows everyone else loves. The Walking Dead, Game Of Thrones, Defiance, I hope I'm not becoming jaded, but I feel like I've just seen all these plots done before.
