It's old and not a lot happens
there aren't any special effects or anything
but it's genuine
I really love old-feeling movies that don't rely on large effects
They really do feel more genuine and honest and the characters are usually so "characterized" I guess is the word

Did you ever get around to watching anymore old war movies? I think I have a few more to add to your list if youre still interested.

I havent watched any of them yet, since none have really found me, but I'm still waiting to watch them yeah
Kind of hoping theyll just come up on Foxtel because renting is a hassle

Sure thing, suggest away

I'd be surprised if most of them appeared on the telly seeing how old they are
Some of them are also obscure and are more "cult hits" than anything
I don't think I've ever seen a really old good movie on my stations before unless they already have this established fanbase - it makes sense but some of the best movies I've watched I've never heard or seen broadcasted, but learned from word of mouth or some other source.

We get TCM which only shows old old old movies so I'm staying positive

Oh we have something similar - It's mostly old Cowboy movies though. People go crazy for cowboys up here and we aren't even close to southern. We're also apparently really huge on "hunting" type movies so I guess there's our balance. We also get like 50 Hallmark channels which shows over the top tripe "feel good message" movies but only our old people watch those channels.

Off topic but I really want to see Gravity and I don't possibly possess the energy to be more hyped and excited for it ahh

A medical engineer and an astronaut work together to survive after an accident leaves them adrift in space.
I really like Sandra Bullock, I think she's snuggly cute, and it has George Clooney as another lead role and he's so likable how can you possibly hate his characters

George Clooney can play a dick! He wasn't very lovable in From Dusk 'Til Dawn, and it wasn't just cause-a the neck tat.
Turner Classic Movies! Yes I love them. James Dean John Wayne Kathryn Hepburn Carey Grant eeeeee

I couldn't bring myself to hate his character in Dusk 'Til Dawn though! He even played the role so well but I can't find it in me to view him as the villain asshole when he is such a sweet and nice guy IRL.

And I knowwwww, there's nothing really like marathoning that station with a good bowl of soup ahhhh~ They are showing Kim Novak movies on Thursdays now and all this month on Sundays are Hitchcock films, I'm really loving this months spotlight.

Technically, I think he was still a hero in From Dusk Till Dawn, the vampires were the villains
He was just an asshole

Jokes on you
I was siding with the vampires

Okay, yes, I was using villain loosely. Point still stands though

Also Tarentino playing the pointlessly sadistic brother also made Clooney more sympathetic by comparison.

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas is such an accurate portrayal of drugs
God I love this movie
Johnny Depp is extremely good

The way they're awkwardly swaying and falling over oh my god
The lizards in the bar
The way he's not sure if he's talking
So perfect

I remember seeing The Machinist and thinking it was interesting and a good movie, but I also don't really remember the story very well, odd.
Oh and if we're talking interesting Christian Bale movies; if you haven't seen Equilibrium, definitely watch that ^^

Arsenic and Old Lace is actually really funny. Earlier when I was talking about my aunts and arsenic, that was supposed to be an oblique reference to that movie. Anyway, it's hilarious, go watch it.

Oh is it ever!
EVERYONE FAVORITE CARY GRANT MOVIE GO!

I think mine might be... Bringing Up Baby? He is so good in North by Northwest but he was a little old for love scenes methinks. There are lots of movies of his I've never seen.
