I'm just finishing up Player Piano by Vonnegut then I'm switching to Seventh Son by Orson Scott Card. They're two of my favorite authors.

Niven is the bestest, but I mostly like his older work. I dunno if it's just me, but his more current stuff tends to be... preachy.
Orson Scott Card yaaaaay. I've been reading Ed McBain lately and I've got this Cory Doctorow novel I've been meaning to finish.

I love the Warriors books. I think that everyone should read them.
And don't forget Eragon! I deeply hate the Hollywood adaption of it though, I'm a huge fan the book and they f*** it up in my eyes. One time my punishment for something(I think that it had something to do with goofing off when I should have been working) was watching the first 10 minutes of the Eragon film.
It was potent punishment, because I didn't mess around after that.

Niven's great, because he's done so much, especially when he's teamed with a co-author. Plus, he introduced the term rishathra. []

EDIT:

Just in from www.jasperfforde.com :

++ News on the latest book. Despite assurances that I was working on a 'Super-Secret-Standalone' book to be published in Spring 2012, it now looks set to be TN7: Dark Reading Matter. This is due to the lack of time available to work on a new book, and properly develop the new characters, settings and tone.

TN7 will be in draft form by December 2011, probably for publication in May 2012. DS-3, The Return of Shandar is still slated to be written in the first six months of 2012, with publication in November 2012. My standalone will thus be pushed back to being written in the latter part of 2012, with publication in 2013.

This two book a year thing can be quite frustrating, especially with a new baby and the house being rebuilt, but we should be back on track soon. ++

I'm reading Tom Sawyer, by Mark Twain. I may be writing a Literature essay on it.

Sure did, in Ringworld Engineers. Has that term become widely used now?
Haven't read anything for fun lately. Maybe I'll re-read some of my old girly fantasy novels, or some of the awesomer ones.
Well, that's not true. I re-read Watchmen because I'm being Rorschach for Halloween. I have yet to decide which of his prints I'm going to paint on my face.

Because I love reading books a little to much. Included are the LOTR and HP series, HP Lovecraft, and all Terry Pratchett.

I've almost finished "I shall wear midnight" and I don't have a replacement yet. I will fall easy prey to the extreme boredom of commuting by train.

I like how you have the Bible and Richard Dawkins in the same list. This may be why you're awesome.

Alright, God Delusion, Stranger in a Strange Land and Brave New World have been ordered. (I had to limit myself to three)

So many books, so little time.

Oh! Thank you! ^^

Here's another screenshot of my books;

Another random screenshot, those are lovecraft volumes, not individual stories (most have 7 stories in one or more)

I also have the declaration of independence and the united states constitution (the law student in me).
Some others that aren't shown are Watership Down, virtually all Stephen King, and a random assortment of B rated sci-fi and fantasy books I'm going to comb through and see what catches my interest.
