I figured this deserved its own section. So post away.

A little bitter honesty.

And melting stars like silver scars
the sweet vibration of an old guitar
summer rain on flowing plains
the laughter of the secrets gained

Sweet innocence straddling a fence
The toes are curled, the shoulders tense
Everything feeling especially appealing
discovery sends calm minds reeling

the chain-link busts from unkempt rust
the ground a manifested must
we fall and climb, wasting our time
the thoughts that we had now covered in grime

Like that we’re something to laugh at
a spectacle that’s growing flat
like soda left out on the table
poured carelessly and left unstable

once inspired, now aimless and tired
all eyes watching us stuck in the mire
once pristine, now dirty and mean
our throats dry and our hearts unseen

Got some funky meter here, but whatever.
I wrote this last year after the first snowfall, at about three in the morning. It was just me standing outside in the early morning, watching the snow fall.

Ankle-deep in poor man’s bliss
Face by wind-whipped snowflakes kissed
Stark against the rising wind

Shivering shoeless in lovely slush
Thin spread of sleet its crunchy skin
Some protection from the reeling night
My coat hastily donned at a moment's fret
Bare legs quiver and shake, and yet

Unable to move, smiling I bask
Sky lit by the dusty glow
Rush of cars tuned out just so
The dissolving of each storm-tossed flake
Drops of light pool on my face
Blindly I wrap in my own embrace
Snow finding rest on unkempt hair.
Centuries, eternities standing there
Until a laugh bubbled out, throw one more look around
Tear wildly toward the warm entry, clouds falling down

I didn't realize how awful that was until I posted it.

"Celebration of Bachelorism (by Raptor)"
-SB8

I woke up to see my morning hen,
(may I add, that's my wife to you)
She'd come around at half-past ten,
but my persistence had already bid her adieu.

Alas, she had asked me;
"Dear, what bothers you so?"
And I turned to her, sans glee:
"Since accommodating you, my life has been woe."

Aghast, she ran crying to the door
But I prevented her depart
She fell to the floor.
The few seconds broke her heart.

"You were the plug to my adaptor!"
She had to cry
But I had already called in the Raptor
And a few seconds later, she was destined to die.

From my college years:

Lesson Learned

Point, desperate finger, draw
fast, dotted lines up to the menu –
Look! Look at what I want!

Carve like chalk, make a
classroom of the coffee-house;
repeat after Mommy –

Repeat - Is that what you want?
Response – Yes! Yes! That one
with chocolate three times!

Give me that one, since its name
sounds so nice when you say it
will satisfy my needy tongue.

****

Take that away now; I
don’t want it anymore,
take it off my plate.

Smell it yourself, it smells
like chalk on pavement,
and inside is all like dirt!

Repeat – I don’t want it!
Response – You asked for it,
You asked for it three times.

No more, no more, its name
sounds icky, now that I’m
wiping it off my greedy tongue.

A Bitter War

An internal game of Battleships,
Played between the two,
Most powerful of the powers gone,
But now have emerged anew.

The guarantee of Freedom,
Came somewhat rapidly,
But a cheque the soldiers had to write,
Exceeded the moral fee.

The red of blood washes over,
The two most noble flags;
The liberty we've been given,
Cost many thousand mags.

Truth is truth, a lie's a lie,
It will always remain the same;
But change in power's perception,
Means that this will lie in vain.

----------------------------------

The entourage of Flame,
Fire, Gas & Lead,
Provides no reconciliation,
From a bullet to the head.

Men & Women, fight together,
To assure a victory,
But what we may call a win,
Changes everlastingly.

A sweet & subtle lullaby,
Plays them off to sleep;
Those, who not long ago,
Had fell counting sheep.

Top Brass lies unharmed,
In his comfortable four-poster bed,
Whilst a note goes out to all those,
Anticipating their now dead.

We Forget

We get too carried away;
We forget there's life out there:
People just passing, just passing by.
The friction of static
Floating amongst our heads.
Making our challenges
and sympathies to our ears.
The water that runs beneath our feet
Cleaning us from how we feel
Because we know that it is wrong
But we never know why.
The questions that never go answered
The answers that never get questioned.
All around us it floats.
We can never quite reach out to feel
Never touch, never see.
Always just beyond what we think we're capable of
When we are worth so much more.

The books that never shut;
The stories that never begin.
History that isn't written,
Truths that never began.
Just one step away
From a million miles.
The moon that shines like the sun.
Stars which never twinkle
Because they are already dead.
The grass that is cold against our bare skins.
Moist against our drought.
Breathing life into our veins.
Cascaded within clouds of rain
That will never fall to Earth.
We never feel more than we percieve.
We recieve no more than we seek.
We think lest we forget.
We forget because we think.

Ryming is a bit inconistent

A Black Heart
Time flies so fast sometimes...
...I forget some of the simpler pleasures of life.
The voices of friends.
The love of a mother
A kiss from a lover
The rains of Spring
A church bell's ring
Sometimes I wonder why I miss these things
They are some things that I know well, but I always forget
Maybe that's why my life hasn't been going so well
I can only see the darker side of things
I guess that is both a blessing and a curse
The blessing is that I don't cry when I see a hurse
But by the same token, I can't love as well as could before
But at least I won't cry if she walks out the door
But the toll is a black heart
If I keep it, I just might fall apart
I just wish that I could feel incredible love in the arms of a mortal
That way, I won't feel as bad that I'm not immortal
Love is supposed to be a shield
But instead to me it is a knife
I have to say goodbye for now
But I'll come back, that is my vow

loving someone is so hard they say, loving her is tha price you haft to pay.it's loving her with no one to hold,it's being young and feeling old.it's letting her whisper her love to you ...you whispering back that you love her to.then comes a kiss and a promise to wait knowing love now holds our fate.it's extremely painful letting her go while dieing inside from needing her so.watching her leave with eyes full of tears...standing alone with her hopes, her dreams and fears.although you are near but so far away her love for you grows with each passing day.loving someone is so much fun, because at the end it was all said and done.remember she is lovely and sad from being away and she is thinking of you every single day.so love her,and miss her and please tell her so...because if you really love her she desperatly needs to know<3

A long time ago, I wrote some of those Japanese poems(I can't belive that I forgot how they where spelled!) for my English class, one of them about the night, anohter about wolves, and a few others, includeing one about the famous Lethiathan.
Too bad that I've lost them. Might recompose the night one because I kinda remeber it.

I think you are talking about Haiku. A Japanese form of poetry that has a certain amount a syllables per line.

Well, when someone says, "Japanese poetry", they're never NOT talking about Haiku.

Haiku are easy.

Or, rather, they're simple.

Easy to convey a feeling with a Haiku.

This is a haiku.

Vague emotions of some sort.

Now it is over.

Well done Dew. Well done. That tickled me.
EDIT: After I'm done with my homework, I'll try to recompose "The Night," one of my first haikus
